News for January 2015

  • Welcome to the Spring term at Wollaston Community Primary School.  So far this winter we have been lucky with the weather and have not had any snow?perhaps that is tempting fate!

Now the building project has come to its completion we are appreciating having the school back to normal and enjoying the new facilities and easier access between the infants and juniors.  Those of you who come in to Walk-in-Wednesday may have seen the new library, situated in the old hall.  We are still in the process of purchasing new books and also finalising the displays however, when complete, this is going to be a fantastic resource for the school.

Just a reminder that it is important to remember to send your child with coats, gloves and hats during these cold days.  The wind blows across the open playground and although the children do run about it is essential that they are wrapped up warm.

An important date to remember is the residential visit to Wales for our Year 6 pupils which is the week beginning the 22 June.  Letters have already been sent out asking for interest and a letter asking for your deposit, if your child is lucky enough to secure a place, will follow shortly.  We do invite you to pay the balance by instalments to help with the cost of this trip, and you will receive further information in due course.

Please note the information in this newsletter regarding the closure of the school in the case of severe weather.

Finally we wish everyone all the best for this New Year and hope that your children have a very successful term with us at Wollaston Community Primary.
