Curriculum Updates

We have had a brilliant first term with our children and are raring to go for the Spring Term.

In Key Stage 1 we work hard to teach our children to be independent. This is something we believe will benefit the children throughout their life and something we would encourage you to teach at home also.

Our curriculum theme this term in EYFS and KS1 this term is called ‘Where my wellies take me’. We have all sorts of exciting learning planned. Some of our questions for this term include:

  • What is Wollaston like? How is the land in Wollaston used?
  • What do we like/dislike about our local area?
  • Where is Wollaston?
  • What country do we live in? What can we find out about it?
  • How do you use a map?
  • What is ‘birds-eye view?’
  • Is Wollaston like other places in the World?

Of course, this is only a flavour of what we will be covering. Hopefully your child will come home full of enthusiasm for what they have been learning about in school. Please keep an eye on Class Dojo as we try to post updates on there for you. We know from speaking to lots of parents at parents evening that you are enjoying having those snippets of information which give you a way in to talking about learning with your children.

Wollaston - "Progress is Good"

Our last Ofted showed that teaching is consistently good in our school. Typically, progress is good for each year group and a higher proportion than nationally achieve as expected by the end of both key stages.
